“Sandro taught us our first dance, and the lessons became one of the highlights of the whole run-up to the wedding. Neither of us had ever had a dance lesson, though we are both happy enough on a dance floor. He builds something that looks polished and still feels like you, and breaks it into pieces you can remember and practice on your own. He paced it well. We started with a few lessons about three or four months out, across a few weeks, until we felt ready to work on it ourselves. He recorded videos for us to practice from, both of him dancing it with us and of the two of us dancing it together in the studio, which is what we worked from at home. Once we had got as far as we could on our own we booked another session, and he put the icing on it: blocking, timing, expressions, remembering to breathe. He helped us choose the song too. It held up. We both knew our steps and it was fun, which matters when you are standing in front of 120 people. It finishes with spins, a lift and a dip, and our guests cheered the whole way through. Several of them had been filming and waiting to see whether the lift was coming. It landed cleanly, and the room went up. People came straight onto the floor for the next few songs and into the hora after that. That memory alone was worth what the lessons cost. He is a seriously good dancer and an even better teacher. We would send anyone to him.”

Going into our first lesson, I was genuinely terrified-especially because my wife is an incredible dancer, and I was convinced I’d spend our first dance stepping on her toes. “We had the absolute best experience taking our wedding dance lessons with Sandro!!! My husband is the definition of having two left feet, but Sandro made all our lessons with him so fun and we had the best time!! We trusted him throughout the whole process. “Sandro was such a fun, exhilerating dance instructor for our wedding dance. I was initially reluctant to take dance lessons because I’ve never taken a class like this before. But my anxieties dissipated the moment we started our lessons with Sandro. He offers private lessons in a studio in midtown so there’s ample space and privacy. We showed him a few song options we were considering and he immediately clocked what might work or not with each song so we were able to pick one out with his advice. He prepared a dance for us based on our personalities, our skill level, and then we spent the next three/four lessons learning our moves and then learning to dance with each other. Sandro is an infectious presence -- he’s charming and funny and helps you build confidence and believes in your ability to dance. I looked forward to dance lessons with him each time. And he built a routine that worked so well with our song and we were so excited to show him our dance video after the wedding. Our guests were in awe of our performance, not because we were so talented, but because they could tell how much we’d practiced and how much fun we had. Sandro’s choreography really helped highlight our relationship with each other. Wedding is over, but now we’re booking salsa lessons with him next because he’s taught us to move our bodies and love to dance!”

“Cannot recommend Sandro enough!! He taught my now husband and I an incredible routine that gave us basic dance skills and knockout choreography that wowed our guests. We walked in knowing nothing and after four lessons we were pros. Sandro is a patient, dedicated instructor who teaches one couple at a time so you get truly personalized attention. He took a ton of videos of us each week so we could refer back to the choreo when we practiced on our own. As a same sex couple we weren’t really sure where to go for our dance lessons. We didn't have much experiencing in dancing but he not only helped us choreographed the dance, edited the soundtrack (!!!) but also made us comfortable and confidence in the dance so we can make it our own. “Words cannot describe how much our dance lessons with Sandro added to our wedding! We called hims with less than 3 weeks to go before our wedding and he was able to squeeze us in, taught us dance basics (which we'll benefit from for life!), edited our soundtrack and gave us the cheography and SKILLS to knock our first dance out of the park! I'll admit, we first tried to copy a dance off of YouTube, but it was awkward, stiff and when we tried to show Sandro what we learned, we immediately forgot everything and couldn't recover. Sandro gave us the skills to be able to recover from a forgotten step (which happened during the real dance and we recovered seamlessly!) and the enjoyment to not take it too seriously. Our lessons with him were both fun and informative, we took them as opportunities to connect and pause during the wedding planning process We were really on the fence about doing anything other than a sway for our first dance, but I'm SO glad we decided to give it a try. Not only did it build closeness between my partner and I during the stressful weeks leading up to the wedding, but I tear up watching it back now that it's been a few weeks. Watching the video back now and hearing my mom GIGGLE with joy in the background at every twirl and flourish made it so worthwhile.”
